Crisis communications workshop
Presented by the SWMO PRSA chapter

This half-day workshop will focus on communications preparedness and execution during a crisis. It'll feature lead speaker Jessica Sextondeputy preparedness division manager with the Missouri State Emergency Management AgencyJessica is a certified emergency manager with more than 15 years of experience in state and local government. Her presentation will focus on addressing the right stakeholder audiences at the right time through the right channels during a crisis. 

The workshop will also include presentations from:

- Joel Alexander, former City Utilities of Springfield media relations manager, on how the test of a crisis can shape your career
- Cara Erwin, City Utilities of Springfield director of communications and former Springfield-Greene County Health communication and outreach coordinator, about the concepts of team resiliency, burnout avoidance and navigating internal expectations with external pressure

We will also explore real-world case studies with seasoned PR professionals, highlighting key lessons learned and practical takeaways. Breakfast is included and will be served at 7:30 a.m., with programming beginning at 8 a.m.
